About This Blog
Welcome to AWAKE.
This blog is intended to explore the creepy and unusual, from true crime to urban legends to reviews of horror books and films.
Please note that this blog may discuss disturbing and upsetting topics. If you cannot handle death, horror, unsolved mysteries, the paranormal, and related topics, please exit this blog.
I want to make my stances clear on a few issues.
The first order of business concerns true crime. I intend to cover every true crime topic with the utmost respect for the victims and their loved ones. No post is meant to glamorize criminals or the terrible suffering of the victims. Every crime and assault is a tragedy and I hope for a world without these tragedies for all people.
Secondly, I do not endorse any specific religious viewpoint. I hope to discuss various mythologies and creatures, which may include religious themes such as demons, jinn, and other spirits or entities. By discussing these topics I am not attesting to the existence of these entities nor to the truth of the faiths they originate from.
I also would like to note that I will cite any sources I use when researching these topics. I do not guarantee that the sources used are legitimate, academic, unbiased, or truthful. Remember, this blog is a passion project by someone who loves creepy things, not a professional journalist or investigator.
Finally, keep in mind that this blog will include my personal opinion on various topics, whether implicitly or explicitly stated. I do not claim to be an authority on any topic discussed on this blog. This blog is entirely meant to be an exploration of the creepy topics I enjoy learning about. I am not an expert on the paranormal, true crime, conspiracies, or anything else discussed on this blog.
If you have a suggestion for a topic, I would be happy to hear it. Please leave suggestions in the comments or send them my way via Twitter.
Sleep well,
-Wren
